Lately I have been shocked at how much I underappreciate the opportunities God has given me. I (we) have been blessed with the opportunity to discover and experience God's goodness. This is like digging for buried treasure. Sometimes it is hard work, but the reward is way more than worth it. God is beautiful. God is strong. God is wise.
As I discover the goodness of God in His kingdom, I see more and more that I can trust His wisdom. All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Jesus. He lived a perfectly fulfilled human life and wants to teach me to do the same. I must keep moving towards believing that Jesus is absolutely right about everything all the time. I CAN fully trust Him to direct me toward the life I really want in my heart.
As I trust my heavenly Father's wisdom and His guidance in my life, I realize I don't have to worry about me. This frees me up to share God's kindness with others. It is at this point that I discover Jesus is right again: "It is more blessed to give than receive."
Is it any wonder that Jesus advises us to "Seek first God's kingdom and righteousness"? When I give myself to His will instead of my will, I discover what I wanted all along: a fulfilled life. And this comes not from seeking what I want, but in seeking what God wants in the world around me. A life centered on God's Kingdom is a well lived life.
